| Reflection |
Reflection is an advanced add-on feature for all the Monarch Virtual Studio systems.
Thanks to the powerful rendering engine, this Plug-in allows reflections to be rendered in real-time. This feature lends a more realistic and natural look to the Video production process.
Reflections are eye-catching visual effects. They bring a whole new dimension to the environment. They deliver a sense of Reality at a whole new level.
In the Virtual Set you get real-time mirror like reflection of the subject or the live talent in front of camera on shiny surfaces such as reflective floors, table tops, chrome surfaces etc.
The transparency of the Reflection can be controlled, allowing you to create a life-like illusion on the virtual set. |

| Shadows |
Shadow creates an illusion of depth; it makes a flat page appear three-dimensional and helps to determine the Spatial Relationship between Live Talent, 3d Objects and Backgrounds.
When used in the virtual set, shadow can add contrast and can help lead the eye to specific areas tying Live and Virtual elements together seamlessly as if they were physically in one and the same space.
This add-on feature offers a perspective shadow to deliver a more realistic element to the virtual set. Through rotation, stretching, and skewing you can cast shadows similar to those cast by the sun or multiple light sources.
Shadows are properly combined with the texture of the object that they fall on to, and assume the profile of the object. Shadows can be colored and modified to a varying degree of opacity and sharpness. |

| Automation for Media/Audio Switching & Playback |
Virtual Set Production incorporates multiple video feeds.
Monarch Virtual Studio systems offer 2 full D1 resolution live video inputs and 2 pre-recorded media sources in AVI formats in standard definition.
In addition to the video, they offer a dynamic foreground overlaying module which allows graphics files to be overlaid or mapped on the virtual set enhancing the virtual set production with information.
The two Digital VTRs deliver video clips as source inputs.
While one video clip is displayed, the other clip file in the second digital VTR is readied in standby mode. These clips can be instantly taken to air by switching between the two video clips or between Live source and video clip. This is achieved by mouse or keyboard shortcuts thus eliminating the need of an external switcher.
Automation allows you, in a single keystroke, to move from one virtual camera position to another, switch video clips, switch/fade audio inputs of live source and media clips going on-air simultaneously.
Thus a single operator can handle complex operations of camera movement, Video Switching, Audio mixing / switching and playing media files with ease resulting in a lower manpower count and a stress free Broadcast Production Environment. |

| Shader Materials |
Real-time shaders can be applied to 3D Virtual sets. Shaders that emulate the look of materials like glass, metal can be used for realistic looking virtual sets. |
|
| Graphic Overlay |
This module superimposes static graphic images over the virtual set. Full screen graphic images or images with 32 bit alpha channel information can be overlaid on virtual set with this module. This module is very useful for displaying full screen graphics; static logos and for lower third graphics. |

| AVI Overlay |
This module superimposes media clips in AVI format on the virtual set. Full screen media clips or media clips with 32 bit alpha channel information can be overlaid on virtual set with this module. This module is very useful for displaying full screen graphics; animated logos and for lower third graphics. This module will be installed on the main Virtuoso system. |
